 Recommended Products

Antibacterial or Antimicrobial hand soap-Liquid form works best, as this is less traumatic to the wound
Unscented Lotion-Nothing with a fragrance, as this can irritate the tattoo and cause an allergic reaction
Sunscreen-Use the highest SPF value available, preferably SPF 70 or above
Bacitracin Do not to over apply this, as this can cause complications

Aftercare Procedure

  1. Leave the bandage on for about 2 - 4 hours.
  2. When you remove the bandage, wash it with a mild soap (no heavy fragrances). Use you fingertips to wash the tattoo, and pat it dry with a towel. Do not be too rough with the tattoo.
  3. Do not soak the tattoo in the bath, ocean, pool, or any fluids whatsoever.
  4. After you get the tattoo dried off, start using the ointment. Use VERY light coats, very often. Using a small amount every couple hours will allow the tattoo to breathe, while still giving it enough ointment for a proper heal.
  5. After about 3-5 days the tattoo will start to peel (This is normal, and the peeling will be colored the same as the tattoo, which is also normal). At this point, discontinue the use of ointment, and start using a mild lotion (no fragrance). Use this to keep the tattoo moisturized until after it is healed.
  6. Make sure to keep the tattoo out of the sun during the healing process, and as much as possible following the healing. If the tattoo is going to be exposed to the sun after healing, make sure to apply sunblock to the tattoo (preferably SPF 70 or above).

Things to Remember

  • Avoid soaking the tattoo in bodies of water.
  • During the healing process, you should avoid bodily fluids contacting the tattoo.
  • Use SPF 70 or higher sunblock when the tattoo is going to be exposed to sun.
  • Do not over-use the ointment, or lotion on the tattoo. If the tattoo appears to be shiny or glistening, there is too much ointment on it. (This can make the area break out, heal slowly or improperly, and cause an allergic reaction)
  • Just because you friend thinks you should care for your tattoo in a different way, does not mean he is qualified to make that judgement. We are trained professionals, and the proper application and aftercare of your tattoo are our goal.
  • Always remember not to touch the tattoo with dirty hands. Wash hands thoroughly before touching the tattoo.
